From Groundworks to Fully Finished Garden Room

We recently completed this stunning 12ft x 12ft log cabin installation in Oakworth, West Yorkshire, transforming an unused outdoor space into a fully functional, insulated garden room.

This project showcases our end-to-end service, from groundwork and base construction through to full interior finishing and electrical installation.

Ground Preparation & Sub-Base Construction

Every quality garden room starts with a solid foundation. For this project, we installed a robust sub-base system designed for long-term durability and stability.

Composite posts concreted into the ground
Raised timber frame constructed using 6x2 treated timber
Carefully levelled to ensure a perfect base for the cabin installation

This method not only provides strength but also allows airflow beneath the structure, helping to prevent moisture build-up over time.

Premium Log Cabin Structure

The cabin itself was constructed using 47mm interlocking logs, offering excellent structural integrity and natural insulation.

Key external features include:

High-quality uPVC French doors for natural light and easy access
Matching uPVC windows for a modern finish
Precision assembly ensuring a tight, weather-resistant build

The result is a clean, contemporary garden room that blends perfectly into the outdoor space.

Fully Insulated Interior Build

To make the cabin usable all year round, we carried out a full internal fit-out:

Installed 2x2 internal timber framework
Fitted 40mm foil-backed insulation for maximum thermal efficiency
Boarded with plasterboard and professionally skim finished

This creates a smooth, modern interior ready for decorating and furnishing.

Electrical Installation & Mains Connection

We completed the project with a full electrical setup, including:

Internal sockets and lighting
Safe and compliant wiring throughout
Mains connection to the main property

This ensures the space is fully functional—ideal for use as a home office, studio, or relaxation space.
